Religion:
Earlier this month, our students have been sharing their prayer intentions after visiting the Student Chapel, while the freshmen and sophomore classes said a decade of the Rosary in the chapel during Religion class, as we remember Our Lady of the Rosary during the month of October.
Mass:
Mass:
The celebration of mass is at the center of the Catholic life and faithful individuals. At MHC Academy, our community gathers monthly for mass with the students, faculty, staff and Salesian Sisters. In late October, the school was blessed to have Most Reverend Arthur J. Serratelli lead us in prayer. The MHC Academy family joined together in song and worship as the Bishop encouraged us all "to love one another and always do good."
The Bishop enjoyed a reception with students and staff after mass to share stories of their faith and education at MHC Academy.
Retreat:
Retreat experiences are an important part of faith development and an excellent tool for team building. Recently, the MHC Academy faculty/staff joined together for their annual retreat on Friday, November 1st. The day began with the blessed celebration of mass at Saint Philip the Apostle, Clifton, NJ, with the school and parish community for All Saints Day.
Afterwards, the group enjoyed a morning of guidance, prayer, and laughter led by Father Joseph Garbarino. Through the simplicity of the saying, "Lord turn my face with grace to love", Father Joseph provided an opportunity for all attendees to have the time and space to reflect on their faith and rejuvenate their spirit. Through their collective commitment to Catholic education, the faculty/staff developed deeper bonds and a greater sense of responsibility as leaders of the school. We are so grateful for Father Joseph's time and guidance.
